Food Safety

Public Health plays a large role in helping to educate the public on the importance of food safety. Each year, one in six Americans get sick from foods and beverages that are contaminated. In addition to inspecting professional food establishments to ensure safe food practices, the Scott County Health Department investigates reports of food-borne illnesses in Scott County and provides education on safe food preparation to the public. Click on the links below to learn how to safely prepare and enjoy food for yourself and your family and friends.
