The state health department is noticing high activity of norovirus throughout the state.  Common symptoms of norovirus include: diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and stomach pain.  

Here's how you can prevent and handle this common virus that most people think of as the “stomach flu”.

  • Wash your hands often
  • Rinse fruits and vegetables
  • Cook shellfish thoroughly
  • Stay home when sick and for two days after symptoms stop
  • Avoid preparing food for others when you are sick and for two days after your symptoms stop
