Submit your certificate of title if available or submit your current out of state registration if the title is being held by a lien holder.

The application for title and/or registration may be completed at the time of the appointment. If there are multiple owners, all owners are required to sign the application.  The application may be signed prior to the appointment by downloading at https://iowadot.seamlessdocs.com/f/411007ApplicationforCertificateofTitlendorRegistration

The annual registration fee may be calculated at https://iowadot.gov/mvd/vehicleregistration/#:~:text=*INSTRUCTIONS%20FOR%20FEE%20CALCULATOR:%20Click,title%20number%20or%20junking%20certificate.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FEE CALCULATOR:  Click on Tools/Dealer Inquiry/Select Weight and List Price Calculator and search by VIN.  The fees will be listed based on the age of the vehicle.

The registration fee will be prorated from the date brought into the state through one of the owner’s birth months.
