Walnut Grove was a Scott County cross-roads settlement and stage coach stop of the 1860s. The Village includes 22 historic buildings, some relocated from rural Scott County. Pioneer Village has accessible and modern restroom facilities. Great for school groups, weddings and family picnics.

Join the Wapsi Staff for its 4th Annual Monarch Migration Fun Run benefiting the Friends of the Wapsi Center. It is a 5K self timed trail run, with the run starting at 9:00 am. Check in starts at 8:30 am. Registration includes a t-shirt & refreshments.

Join the Wapsi River Center staff as we celebrate Monarch Butterflies. We will have kid’s activities such as butterfly crafts, a photo booth, and education stations. There will be a monarch presentation at 11:00 am., a prairie hike and butterfly catching and Monarch tagging and testing at 12:00 p.m.

Learn how to use a bow and arrow in this fun, informative and free hands-on class! Children must be in the 4th grade or above to participate and accompanied by an adult. Adults are welcome to participate as well! Park in Parking Lot A and meet at the Observatory. This event is weather permitting.
