Job Summary

This is a part time entry level position and the work involves organizing library materials, assisting patrons, and light cleaning duties at a branch of the Scott County Library System. Applicant must be 16 years of age.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for shelving items in correct order and maintaining a neat and orderly collection.



Assists patrons with basic library questions and office equipment like the public copier.



Empties book drops and sorts items appropriately.



Performs light cleaning duties.



Responsible for preparing library for closing by completing an assigned list of duties.



Preforms basic circulation duties.



Other duties as assigned and needed.

Standards for Initial Consideration

Education:



No educational requirement.



Work Experience:



No previous work experience is required.



Essential Skills:



Knowledge on organization and operations of libraries.



Ability to sort and file items in appropriate order.



Ability to work independently.



Ability to communicate effectively with the general public and members of the library team.
