A ground breaking ceremony for the Youth Justice and Rehabilitation Center will take place on Monday October 17, 2022 at 11:00 am.
The site for the new building is located at 4715 Tremont Avenue, Davenport. Parking is available on the site or in the Dee Bruemmer Public Works Parking lot. Brief remarks will be made by the Scott County Board Chair Ken Beck, the YJRC Director Jeremy Kaiser, Architect Roger Schroepfer from Wold Architects and Engineers and Contractor Bill Bruce from Bruce Builders.
Immediately following will be the actual ground breaking ceremony along with a photo opportunity.
The site for this building was previously utilized as the Scott County Warehouse, Scott County Sheriff Patrol Headquarters and Jail Annex prior to the construction of the New Scott County Jail addition in 2007 and the Sheriff Patrol Headquarters in 2016. The construction of this new building is expected to take approximately eighteen months to complete with an anticipated completion in the spring of 2024.
