Veteran Assistance

The Veteran Assistance program, funded by Scott County, provides assistance to veterans with emergency basic needs.

Basic needs include:

  • Shelter
  • Food
  • Utilities
  • Medical
  • Burial
  • Special Needs

To be eligible for assistance you must:

  1. Be a veteran with an honorable discharge.
  2. Be an adult resident of Scott County for at least 30 days.
  3. Meet certain income guidelines.
  4. Apply for any other benefits available.
  5. Register for work (unless disabled) and participate in the Work Readiness Program.
  6. Have emergency basic needs that cannot be met by other means.
