Have you heard about REAL Appeal?  This is a new program available at no cost to eligible employees and spouses enrolled in the Scott County group health insurance plan through UnitedHealthcare.  Whether you are already enrolled in the program or you're curious to find out more about it you can follow the link to the REAL Appeal support website to find FAQ about the program, troubleshooting information and answers to common questions.

As with all things new, we're sure you may have some questions regarding the program and wanted to share some answers to some of the more common questions we've been asked about the program so far:

  • Does it cost me anything to particpate? No, all employees and their spouses enrolled in the group health isurance plan through UHC are eligible to participate at no cost.  However, you may not qualify for the program.  Qualifying to participate is determined during enrollment into the program and is based on a combination of factors that include health measures such as body mass index (BMI) and co-morbidities (combinations of diagnosed health conditions). The program is designed towards medical objectives, so persons are determined qualified to participate or not based on their individual health profile and medical need.
  • Can I attend my weekly REAL Appeal sessions at work? No, it is a personal health activity and is not compensable.  Those employees who are using REAL Appeal for the Healthy Lifestyles participation option as an alternative program to Naturally Slim videos; may do REAL Appeal at work pursuant to Policy P.

  • If I do REAL Appeal during my lunch break, what if I can’t get it to function?  For troubleshooting assistance you can contact the REAL Appeal Answer Center at 1-844-344-REAL (7325) or by emailing [email protected].  You may also find the answers to your questions or connection issues online at the REAL Appeal support website.  You do not need a microphone, camera or blue tooth headset to participate in the program.  IT or HR will not provide any of these items in order to participate in the REAL Appeal program.  If you have program issues you may contact Hiliary in HR.  If you have tech issues you should contact REAL Appeal, it is not an issue for the Help Desk.
