The following policies were approved by the Board on Thursday, October 19, 2017:
Human Resources Policy P “Insurance and Deferred Compensation” updated the policy in preparation for upcoming insurance open enrollment. Every October the Board of Supervisors sets the new employee premium rates for the upcoming calendar year. The change in the administrative policy reflects that non-represented staff, along with AFSCME, DSA, PPME staff, will begin paying single premiums in July. The premiums rates are based on recommendations from our actuary firm. I’ve attached the rate sheet presented to the Board of Supervisors and Health Benefit Team this week. There was a 7.4% increase in Health (slightly less than last year), 0% in dental and 0% in vision. Our numbers are within local and national trends for insurance renewals.
