Web Review

Purpose of Meeting:

Like any project, it’s good to review how we’re doing.

Since the whole county website is comprised of thousands of pages representing content from over a dozen departments, offices, and agencies, we’ll focus on a few over a month or two during the year.

Of course, all departments, at any time, can and do update the website – most, now on their own. The webmaster is only an email away for support or bigger tasks. Some departments are very active and others not as much.

As much updating as we do, we should continue to review our vision and goals for the website and ask how is it doing now and where we want it to go.

Process of Meeting:

We’ll cover how we’ve been doing, where we are now, and where we want to go.

We’ll start with a review the Google analytics reports for the web pages – look at the high performing pages and see if we find any trends.  We’ll review other website monitoring tools.

Next, we’ll take a general overview of all the pages on your section of the website.  Please, re-familiarize yourself with the pages and content before the meeting.  Make note of glaring changes or anything out of date and needs immediate updating.

Then, let’s talk about where we’d like to see your section of the website go.  How do current web trends fit into the future of your content – such as mobile technology, accessibility and content management?  What new tools does the county employ? Let’s talk about longer term visions and goals for the web content and presence.

You’re out there on the Internet beyond the website. We’ll look ways people further stay connected such as Facebook, Twitter and GovDelivery.
