With the upcoming winter storm, road conditions in Scott County could vary widely and vary depending upon the storm’s track & timing. Road conditions in some locations could be EXTREMELY treacherous and hazardous, especially in the rural areas of Scott County. The Scott County Emergency Management Agency, Scott County Sheriff’s Office and the Scott County Secondary Roads recommend residents to avoid travel and outdoor activity when possible. Be especially careful on sidewalks, decks, patios, outdoor stairs, and parking lots. Exercise extreme caution if you go outside. Remember as you begin to clear snow that the surface below could be icy and slippery. Slips and falls may happen. We ask all residents within Scott County to use EXTREME caution if you have to travel out and remember that even if a roadway, sidewalk, or driveway appears to be clear, it could still be very icy.
