What is Influenza (also called Flu)? The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year.
Fall is upon us and it is time to do a little prep work before winter. Keep your gutters clear, and keep cleaning them until the leaves stop falling. Get your furnance inspected. Fall is a prime time to divide those perennials, and bring in the houseplants. Lastly, be sure to test your snowblower.

Say BOO! To the Flu Genesis Occupational Health will be administering the vaccine on October 31st at the Administrative Center, and Scott Emergency Communications, and on November 4th and 7th in the jail outer break room (jail staff only). Flu Shots will also be available at Secondary Roads in Eldridge on October 31st from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Please call Tara or Lisa at Secondary Roads if this is the only time available for you.
