Update on Response to Mississippi River Flooding

As flooding conditions continue to change due to additional rainfall, the Scott County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), the Cities of Davenport and Bettendorf, partner agencies, emergency officials, and volunteers remain hard at work assisting with flood response.

The rise in flood waters due to additional rainfall overnight have placed additional pressure on the Davenport, Bettendorf, Riverdale, and Buffalo riverfronts. This includes the overall sewer system.  Pumps will be set up between Davenport/Bettendorf and Bettendorf/Riverdale borders to relieve the sewer systems’ discharge. This will be beneficial to Bettendorf, Davenport, Riverdale, and Panorama Park.

The Scott Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) was opened Tuesday and will remain open as long as needed. The EOC is staffed by officials from Scott County Emergency Management Agency, City of Davenport Public Works, City of Bettendorf Public Works, the Scott County Health Department, U.S. Coast Guard, MEDIC, and others.
