Scott Emergency Communications Center (SECC) is pleased to announce Melissa Ketcham as the next SECC Director. The SECC Board formally approved the appointment during their Board meeting on June 12, 2024. It is anticipated that Ms. Ketcham will begin employment on July 1, 2024.

Originally from Lakewood, CO, Ms. Ketcham brings over a decade of experience in 911 communications and emergency response. Beginning on the frontlines as a 911 call taker in Denver, CO, Ms. Ketcham quickly advanced, serving in several leadership positions including Communications Supervisor for a consolidated dispatch center in Lakewood, CO. In 2022, Ms. Ketcham became Director at Tazewell County Consolidated Communications in central Illinois. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Global Business Management and a master’s certification in Human Resources.

Ms. Ketcham was selected from a national search conducted by Strategic Government Resources which yielded a field of 21 applicants. Following an in-depth review of application qualifications, three candidates were interviewed by two panels consisting of SECC Board members, community agency stakeholders, and SECC staff members. The SECC administrative team also had an opportunity to meet with Ms. Ketcham.

The SECC Board is excited to welcome Ms. Ketcham to the SECC team. Her experience, proven leadership abilities, and innovative thinking make her an outstanding addition to our center and will help drive SECC’s progress in the future. We look forward to her guidance and the positive impact she will bring to our community.

The opening was created when David Donovan retired in December 2023.
